Odyssey of a Keratinized Filamentous Growth

You may recall my movie Odyssey of a Keratinized Filamentous Growth in my awards post. After it was overlooked in favour of The Artist.

It’s the tale of a random forehead hair that lagged behind when the hairline began receding, it had always dreamed of a world beyond the forehead and struggled to break free, growing ever longer in its quest for a new life.

It’s journey was perilous and fraught with obstacles, the least of which was the villain of the piece, the bushy eyebrow who threatened to thwart our hero’s attempts at freedom, menacingly threatening the hair from below, trying to ensure the hair remained to stave off any fears of premature baldness.

Sadly the hair has since passed away, overdosing on prescription meds not unlike many other Hollywood stars who have suffered on the same downward spiral of despair.

I dedicate the film to its memory.

Thank you to my director,  Jimi Laff of the Revelatory Rev 78

  3. That is the most amazing thing ever. You should submit to the short film festival awards people. 😉

  6. You know I always support any post that rambles on about facial or head-hair, and its struggle to survive in this harsh world.

    • it’s weird since he passed away, I shaved my head this weekend, and the whole top of my head has been tingling all weekend, for real! Something’s afoot, maybe some kind of hair mutiny.

  7. (whispering) Hi Joe – I came over here so we could plot our revenge on Hobbler without her knowing about it.
So sorry to hear about your loss. I was going to say it had company in its last days on your head, the curly one to the right & a little above was reaching out to comfort it. My deepest condolences.

    • I wondered about the curly one, I never knew it was there before. Maybe it’s a new one unfurling itself for spring.

Hobbles really got me with the hoarding thing, as I am fascinated by hoarders and have posted on it before. This revenge plot is going to need some thought, I’m away most of this week, so will mull it over then!

  8. Why is it that inspiring filaments such as this one always get taken from us before we are truly ready to let go. I would light an eyebrow on fire to give the hair a Viking send off.

    • It was only my right eyebrow who tried to stop it leaving, my left didn’t care less.

I hate it when eyebrows are at odds on how to govern the running of their face.
